At the International Journal of Education Teaching and Learning (IJETL), we are committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious ethical violation and is not tolerated.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else’s work, ideas, words, or data as one's own without proper acknowledgment. It includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying or closely paraphrasing another author’s work without attribution

  • Using figures, tables, or data without permission or proper citation

  • Self-plagiarism, i.e., reusing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without disclosure

  • Submitting work that is not original or that has been published or submitted elsewhere

Screening Process

All manuscripts submitted to IJETL undergo plagiarism screening using reliable detection tools (e.g., Turnitin, iThenticate, etc.) before peer review.

  • A similarity index of more than 15–20% (excluding references and standard phrases) may lead to immediate rejection or return to the author for revision.

  • Text overlap in the introduction and methodology is allowed to a minimal extent if properly cited.

Actions in Case of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication), the following actions will be taken:

  • Rejection of the manuscript or withdrawal of the published article

  • Notification to the authors’ institutions and affiliated organizations

  • Banning the author(s) from future submissions to IJETL

  • Public retraction and labeling of the article (if already published)

Author Responsibilities

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring that:

  • Their manuscript is original and properly cited

  • Any reused content (text, figures, tables) is cited and permission is obtained where required

  • They submit a declaration that the manuscript is free from plagiarism

By submitting a manuscript to IJETL, authors agree to abide by this plagiarism policy and understand the consequences of any violations.
